The Gabba Hill Community group was initiated in November 2013 by Carolyn Vincent, one of the residents in the area, because she felt the need bring the community together to create a support network for herself and all residents in the neighbourhood. She decided to go door knocking around the neighbourhood and found that everyone was friendly and actually very eager to connect. The local councillor at the time, Helen Abrahams, was very supportive and the project attracted a bit of media coverage. The first community meeting was held on the 12 February 2014 at Trinity Hall, Hawthorne St and it was well attended by 52 residents. Carolyn named the group Go Gabba Go.

A group of locals volunteered to plan and organise social events with the aim of connecting residents in the Woolloongabba hill area.

This website and associated facebook page was set up as a repository for information on groups, activities, events and campaigns taking place in or directly affecting Gabba Hill.
